Parsons, Virginia L.

Virginia L. Parsons, 71 of Lorain, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020. She was a life-long homemaker who loved cooking; listening to music (especially Elvis); watching sports and game shows; and playing games on her tablet.  Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband Edward Parsons, Sr; children, Jeff Parsons, Kelly D. Parsons (Dana Carroll), Tammy Lynn Parsons, and Pamela Louise Parsons; over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Lodema Gonzalez, Linda Knavel, Carlene Clark, MaryEdna Parsons, Roberta Spenski, and Sue Foizy; brother, Carl Williams, Jr; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons Edward Parsons, Jr. and William Lee Parsons; a sister, Martharay “Tina” Thompson, and a brother, Joseph Coffee.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Wednesday from 10am until the funeral service beginning at Noon. The burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

Plumb, Charlene J.

Charlene J. Plumb (nee Fairhead), 83 of Lorain, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020. She was born on June 7, 1936 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 54B. In her life, she worked for Former Steel Stamping Co., Hanna Mining Co. in Cleveland and sold Avon products for 14 years, being a member of the Avon President’s Club every year. Charlene was a member of Washington Ave. Christian Church, and was a former member of the Queen City Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She collected her cherished teddies and Hummels; enjoyed adult coloring; reading; watching the Indians, Browns and Cavs; being with friends; and especially enjoyed spending time with her son, grandsons, and great grandchildren.

Charlene is survived by her son, Scott B. Plumb; grandsons, Nicholas and Tyler Plumb; great grandchildren, Ella and Harvey Plumb; brother, Donald Fairhead of Annapolis, MD; and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1999; and parents, Charles and Vera (Lynn) Fairhead.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Friday from 10am until the funeral service which begins at 12 noon. Burial to follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

Peterson, James (Jim) R.

James (Jim) Robert Peterson, 79, of Elyria, OH passed away on January 29 surrounded by his daughters and granddaughters.

Jim was born in Toledo, Ohio and went to Central Catholic where he excelled in sportsmanship and was an outstanding baseball player. He was drafted to the Cleveland Indians right out of high school but chose to pursue a college career at Kent State University where he continued to play baseball.

He is survived by five siblings and had three daughters, Ellen (Ralph) Geiger of Avon, Ohio, Sharon Peterson of Westlake, Ohio, and Marie (Mike) Lark of North Royalton, Ohio.
Jim was a devoted grandfather to his granddaughters, Hannah Geiger and Ashley (Ryan) Thoman. He received the opportunity of becoming a great grandfather in December of 2018 with 2 great grandbabies currently on the way.

A private memorial will be held by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He will be greatly missed.

Rivas, Ismael Maldonado

Ismael Maldonado Rivas, 60 of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 24, 2020. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially basketball. “Junior” enjoyed jazz and salsa music; dancing; and doing carpentry work. More importantly, he loved to help others, always putting them before himself.

Junior is survived by his daughter, Ana Gonzalez; grandsons, Michael, Jorge, and Jadiah; siblings, Brunie Rodriguez (Tito), David Maldonado, and Jackie Maldonado Rivas (fiancé, Kenneth Parker); nieces and nephews, Gilbert Cuevas, Carla Rodriguez, and Damian Rodriguez; and a great nephew, Niko Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ismael and Maria; and a brother, Gilbert Maldonado.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Thursday from 4-6pm for a memorial celebration of his life.

Werner, Terry

Terry Werner “Ween”, 60 of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. He was the dear father of Shawn Werner, Valerie Werner, and Destiny Stewart; and loving grandfather to Shamura Taylor Werner, and Kayleigh Anne LeMasters (expectant grandchild).

The family will hold a private service.

McQuaid, Geraldine

Geraldine McQuaid (nee Deweese) 79 of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. She loved growing flowers and painting, but above all else she loved her family especially her grandchildren.

Geraldine is survived by her children, John W. (Linda), Joe, and Mark McQuaid; grandchildren, Jennifer Hunley, Ashley and Ryan McCloud, Ian and Sheila McQuaid, and Tiffany and Harley Ann McQuaid; and great grandchildren, Syerra, Savanna, and Shayla Hunley, and Delilah.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gene; parents, Bud and Fannie Deweese, daughter, Robin McCloud; and siblings, Audrey McQuaid, Jean Drummond, Mickey Schoonover, and Thomas Deweese.

McKinney, Elsie V.

Elsie V. McKinney (nee Edwards) 88 of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020. She was born July 2, 1931 in Letart, WV to the late Jackson and Ruby (Montgomery) Edwards. She lived in Lorain for the past 50 plus years and was a member of the First Community Church of God in Lorain. Elsie was a Sunday School Teacher and a Bible School Teacher for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, puzzles, and watching game shows.

Elsie is survived by her children, Edgar Ray McKinney, Wilson McKinney, David McKinney, Diane McKinney, and Belinda Grace; 10 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Oral; her son, Michael; and 7 brothers.

Behlke, Dorothy I.

Dorothy I. Behlke (nee Kroneker), 93 of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020. She was a huge Cleveland Indians fan who also loved playing Bingo.  Her biggest joy was her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Karen Reaser (Martin), Lewis Behlke (Kathy), and Ronald Behlke (Dianne); daughter in law, Janet Behlke; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 9 great, great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Bechtold; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Caroline Kroneker; husband, Michael Behlke; children, Larry Behlke and Beverly Donnally; brother, Eugene Kroneker; and a granddaughter, Brianna Crum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends at the Original Glorious Apostolic Church, 995 Foster Ave., Elyria on Friday from 5-8pm and on Saturday from 10:00am – 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday at 11:00 am. The interment will be private.

Weese, Jennifer Dawn

Jennifer Dawn Weese (nee Wedell), 62 of Lorain passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 after extended illnesses. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose favorite expression was “Whatever”. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets.

Jennifer is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Terry; children, Terry (Melinda), and Heather Bristor; grandson, Aydon Weese; and siblings, Jerry Wedell, Jolene Dyer, Jody Dittmer, Joy Szmania, and Jan Gallo.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and        Wedell, and a brother, John Wedell.

The family will be holding a private remembrance for Jennifer.

Yeaples, Sandra Lea

Sandra Lea Yeaples, 84, passed away on December 19, 2019. She is survived by her children, John (Melitta), Kathryn (Duane), Mark (Diane), and Julia (Jim); grandchildren, Jared, Kimberly, Christopher, Jennifer (Garrett), Jim Jr., and Ashleigh; and great grandchildren, Alexander, Cody, Evelynn, Raylen, Addisyn, and Elouise. Also surviving are her siblings, Rena (Dave), John (Judy), William (Rita), Jon (Kevin), Don (Susie), Mike (Char), Dave (Lawanna), and Marilyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband John (2012) and grandson Daniel (2006).

No services will be held.

McCowan, Alan J.

Alan J. McCowan, 80 of Elyria, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2019 at his daughter’s home. He was a great craftsman who was a member of Local 310. Alan enjoyed the outdoors. He also worked as an auxiliary policeman and firefighter for Sheffield Village, and was very proud of his military service with the 187th Airborne group of the Army.

Alan is survived by his children, Sheryl McKain (Larry), Michelle McCowan, Shawn McCowan (Elizabeth), Raelene McCowan, and Adam McCowan (Jennifer); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will have a private celebration of Alan’s life.

Sanders, John Thomas “Tom”

John Thomas Sanders “Tom”, 76 of Lorain and Booneville, MS, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 in Cleveland.

He was born in Booneville, MS and spent most of his life in Lorain.

He was a very giving and charitable Christian man who would not take money for the many things that he would do for people.  He was more concerned with taking care of others. He proudly served our country in the Army National Guard. Tom had been a building inspector and a contractor and really loved building things, especially houses. He also enjoyed growing gardens both here and in Mississippi.

Tom is survived by his children, Becky Sanders McCutchen (Chris), and John Michael Sanders; grandchildren, Candice Gray (Jake), Alex McCutchen, and Fallon Edmond; great grandchildren Ben, Grace, and Blayke Ivy Gray; and siblings, Roger Sanders (Ophelia), Martha Hopkins, Joe Sanders (Georgia), Shirley Wilcher (George), Mary Ellen White (Tom), James Sanders, and Sue Fortner (Don).

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra Martin Sanders in September of this year, a daughter, Nancy Sanders, and his parents, John and Mattie Bell Sanders.

The funeral and burial will take place in Booneville, MS at a later date.

Bolinger, Carol S.

Carol S. Bolinger, 70 of Elyria, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019. She enjoyed fishing and listening to country music, especially Conway Twitty. Carol loved her job at Abbewood where everyone there was like family to her. She had a very big heart and a loving soul, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Carol will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her son, Robert Bolinger (Melissa); grandchildren, Joseph Vincer (Courtney), Corey Fyffe (Brandy), Madison Bolinger, and Jalyn Kay; lifelong friend, Clyde Workman; best friend Dolores Fuehrer; sisters, Donna Teague (Charles), Linda Cole, and Karen Shelton; brother, Robert Bolinger (Theresa); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty Bolinger; and son, Jason Bolinger.

As per Carol’s request, a private family celebration of her life will be held.

Hamilton, Cecil

Cecil Hamilton, 83 of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. He was retired from US Steel. Cecil was born in Kentucky on May 13, 1936 and later married his wife, Veronica (nee Spontike) on January 30, 1956.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Veronica; children, Cecil Hamilton, Jr., Janet Kaurich (Rich), Denise Surrena (Robert), and Elizabeth Krejci (Gary); 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters, Sola Collier (Enoch), Viola Adkins (Danny), Lula Hall (Del), and Verble Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddie and Zona Hamilton; brothers, Gene and Arthur Hamilton; and sisters, Lovell Osborn, and Virginia and Verona Scalf.

Lingenfelter, Robert J.

Robert Joseph Lingenfelter “Uncle Joe”, 68 of Lorain, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 18, 2019. He was a US Air Force Veteran who enjoyed spending time on Farmville. Joe was active for a long time in the AA community and could be found selling ceramics at Jamie’s Flea Market. There are several neighborhood cats who are going to miss his attention!

Joe is survived by his nephews, Brian Dubesa (Margaret) and Chad Dubesa (Marisol) and his niece Nicole Santantonio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Lingenfelter, and his sister, Bonnie Santantonio.

Donations in his name may be made to the ASPCA.

Joe’s urn will be placed at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.

Powell, Keri

Keri Powell, age 50 of North Ridgeville, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2019. She was a selfless woman whose life was all about others. She took care of a lot of  neighborhood children and everyone called her “Mom”.  It simply didn’t matter who a person was – she would put them before herself.  She also had a very special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Crash, Tommo, and Queso.

Keri was the loving mother of Kayla and Cory Panigutti; beloved daughter of Dan and Marijane Powell; dear sister of Kelly Gregoire (Ryan), and Kim Powell; and the cherished aunt of Danielle, Preston, Parker, Peyton, Marleigh, and Marilyn.

Elizabeth J. Devore (nee Paxton), 45 of Elyria passed away suddenly on Friday, November 1, 2019. She had worked as a Dental Assistant when she was younger, but spent the majority of her time raising her three daughters. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Allison, Meghan, and Hailey Devore; her mother, Twila Paxton; brother, Brad Paxton (Amanda); and niece, Brittany Paxton.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Paxton.

Wise, Shirley L.

Shirley L. Wise, 65 of Lorain, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019. She retired last year after working for 32 years as an STNA at Amherst Manor. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and attending concerts, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Angela Donaldson (Ken Waldrop) and Rachel Higginbotham (Chad); grandchildren, Alyssa Mihalic, Brendan Mihalic, Autumn Arbaugh, Isabella Higginbotham, and Ava Higginbotham; and her sister, Mary Chitwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mabel Carender.

Nelson, Leason Sr.

Leason Nelson, Sr., 96 of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019. He was a retired foundry worker who was loved by all. Leason served as a Deacon, and was always active in his church including Church of the North Coast and Second Baptist Church in Elyria.

Leason is survived by his loving wife Jackie; children, Leason Nelson, Jr., Linda Perry (Melvin), Oscar Nelson, and Shree Plaza (Carlos); and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.

Fern, Shelby Jean

Shelby Jean Fern (nee Burdette), age 81, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2019, at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin Ohio. She was born May 26th, 1938, in Greenville, South Carolina. She has lived in various parts of Lorain County since the late 50’s. Shelby enjoyed spending time with her family, camping in Loudonville, traveling, assembling puzzles, reading books and playing bingo.

Survivors include Son’s Robert W. Fern (April), of Sweetser, Indiana, Charley Fern (Ruthi) of Lorain, Ken Fern Jr. (Morgan) of Brunswick. Grandchildren Michele Britton (Gary), Rob Fern Jr. (Andreanna), Rachel Fern, Todd Fern (Beth), Charley Fern (Amber), Christopher Fern (Ashley), Lori Lovell (Keith), Marlayna Fern (Chris), Tyler Fern and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Shelby was preceded in Death by her husband, Charles J Fern; her son Ken Fern Sr.; daughter Vickie Lynn Fern; parents, Hubert and Annie (Vaughn) Burdette; sisters Edna “Dean” Laws; Norma Lowe; Brothers Clyde, Steve, Ed and Bob Burdette.

The family will receive friends Monday at Peace Mennonite Church, 9300 West Ridge Road, Elyria from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the service immediately following.

Minick, Ronald A.

Ronald A. Minick, 75 of Elyria, passed away on September 24, 2019 following a brief illness. He was born in Paint Township, PA on November 14, 1943. He retired from York International. Ron enjoyed reading, antiques, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Survivors include his daughters, Cristi Minick and Debbi (Ray) Amador; 2 stepsons, Scott and David (Kim) Ryan; 7 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; his brother, John (Sue) Minick; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Minick; estranged wife Pat Minick; a great-grandson Randy; and many aunts and uncles.

Cremation will be private per his request.

Moss, Brenda S.

Brenda S. Moss (nee Baisden), 75 of Elyria Township, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019. She loved going to garage sales, flea markets, and antiquing with her good friend Jean Sherrard. She also loved her dogs, Coco and Lucky, and her granddogs, Meeko, Kenobi, and Romeo.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daryl; children, Shannon Moss (Melissa) and Daria Castro (Nelson); grandchildren, Jasmyn Ortiz, Jade Castro, Julian Castro, and Ashley Schuster; great grandchildren, Lucas and Paisley Schuster; and her twin sister, Linda Gregory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Hazel Baisden; and siblings, JoAnn Hayner, Lillian Jackson, Gloria Rose, Buddy Baisden, Michael Baisden, and Doris Baisden.

Moss, Dale L.

Dale L. Moss, Sr., 66 of Oberlin, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019. He had worked in construction most of his life. Dale is survived by a son, Chris Slone; grandchildren; and a brother, Daryl Moss (Brenda).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Marie Moss; a son, Dale, Jr; brothers, Dennis and Dana Moss; and a sister, Dawn Brown.

Derifay, John

John (Rattler/Digger/Butch) Derifay 87 of Lorain, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 15, 2019.  He was born on January 11, 1932 in Lorain and remained a lifelong resident of the city.  He was employed by the City of Lorain – Elmwood Cemetery until 1994 and then became a bailiff for the late Judge Robert Ewers until 2002.

John was a member of the Lion’s Club, many social clubs in the area, and was an original “River Rat”.  John enjoy fast pitch softball back in his day and spending time with his family and friends.    John was a social butterfly and has touched the lives of many.

John was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Josephine (Frankovich) Derifay, and his brother Steve (Tuffy) Derifay.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Spehar); daughters Monica Walker of California, and Michelle Derifay of North Carolina; grandchildren Brandon (Candice) Walker of California, Brittany (Ben ) Clark-Walker of California, and Taylor Cartmill of Lorain; great grandchildren Brooklyn Walker and Braxson Walker; and sisters Donna Dineff and Rose Marie Perichak both of Lorain.

Gfell, Thomas A.

Thomas A. Gfell, 74 of Lorain, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 12, 2019.  He was born on June 26, 1945 in Lorain, Ohio.  Thomas graduated from Lorain High School and worked at US Steel as an Electrician until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at the lake, and with his family.

Thomas leaves behind his children, Lora Gfell of Lorain, Dawn Kos (David) of Avon Lake, Nicholas Beckloff (Sara) of Apex, NC, Mackenzie Gfell of West Newton, PA, and December Gfell of Mt. Vernon, OH; granddaughters, Heather Saunders, Hannah Gfell, and Maddalyn Beckloff; grandsons, David Kos, Jr., and Jake Whitson; great granddaughters, Adrianna, BellaRose, Londyn, and Layla; a sister, Sandy Scoffil; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Thomas Gfell; parents, Robert and Helen Gfell; and brothers, Robert Gfell, and Gilbert Gfell.

Hancock, James H. “Jimmy”

James H. “Jimmy” Hancock, age 64 of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the J.S. Paris Excavating Company. Jimmy loved spending time in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and working on cars.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, Robert and Jean Hancock; his son, Teddy Hancock (Dawn); grandchildren, Brenna and Seth Hancock; siblings, Rhonda Largent (Gerry), and Robert Hancock; and his fiancé, Jody Bertram.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Hancock.

The funeral service will be held at the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 42503 Butternut Ridge Rd. on Friday, September 13 at 1pm. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11am -1pm. Burial to follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

Morgan, Michael J.

Michael J. Morgan, Jr., 59 of Kipton, passed away in August, 2019. He was the devoted and loveable brother of Pamela Morgan-Hune (Jerry); and uncle to Tonya, Daniel, and Nicholas Pedraza. Michael worked at Home Depot and loved his animals. He enjoyed fishing and liked hot rods and spending time at Norwalk Raceway.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Morgan.

According to his wishes, there will be no services.

Wyatt, Linda

Linda Wyatt (nee Kunz), 76 of Westlake, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2019. She enjoyed working for over 30 years at Duck Tape World Headquarters in Avon in the customer service department. She loved her job and everything was “Ducky” to her! Linda was a devoted Christian with Grace Baptist Church in North Ridgeville being her church home for the past several years. She loved to serve, especially with the “Sunshine Class” (special needs ministry) and always brought her own sunshine with her wherever she went. Affectionately known as “Grandma Linda” by many, she always had a smile and words of encouragement, and yes, the never-ending plays on words never failed to escape her lips! Linda adored her family and heartily cheered on the Browns at every opportunity – she was a die hard fan! She loved to lovingly tease and joke with friends and family and her mastery of words never failed to bring a smile as she was an expert at making hilarious puns and clever plays-on-words.

Linda is survived by her children Timothy Hawkins (Tami); Katherine Demyan, Gordon Hawkins (Jennifer), Leonard Hawkins, and Heather Hawkins; and grandchildren, Lilly Tupa, Amanda and Nicholas Demyan, Nikki Baum, and Kylie Ackerman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Loretta Kunz; brother, George Kunz; and her first born daughter, Lorinda Tupa.

Smith, J. Richard

J. Richard Smith, 83 of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his home. He drove tank in the 32nd Armor Division of the Army. Richard had worked at Bechstein Paving in Birmingham, Griffith Black Top in Lorain, and retired from Fralley as a truck driver. He had lived in Corona and Norco, CA for some time, before moving back to Lorain in 1973. Richard was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain and liked car racing and John Wayne westerns.  He was a “comedic genius”.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Karen (nee Webber); children, Jeff (Maureen), Scot, Natalie Calamante (Michael), Sarah Smith, and Stephen Vanek; grandchildren, Maggie, Heather, Molly, Anne, Daniel, Aileen, Michael, David, Phillip, Gabrielle, and Morgan; 5 great grandchildren; and brothers, Warren Roy and Kenneth Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Helen Smith; and siblings, William Boyd Smith in infancy, Carlton Robert “Bob” Smith, Gerald Russell Smith, Donna Smith Franklin, and Carol Smith Dendinger.

The family will receive friends at the Smith residence -1157 West 8th Street, Lorain, 44052 on Thursday from 1-8pm.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

Livingston, Charles Sr.

Charles Livingston, Sr., 82 of Olmsted Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor. Loving “Pops” to Cheryl Hrivnak (John), Charles Livingston, Jr. (Donna), Lynne Bartow (Sam), Scott Livingston (Michelle), and the late Ellie Livingston. Grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 20. Brother of Marlene Scott (Chuck), Wayne Livingston (Shirley), and the following deceased – William Morris, Harry “Junior” Morris, Everett Morris, Jean Fox, Clyde “Bud” Livingston (Alice, surviving), and Beverly Deck.

Visitation at the Westwood Abbey at Sunset Memorial Park on Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-8pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11am at the Westwood Abbey.

Knight, Norma J.

Norma J. Knight (nee Tracy), 76 of Lorain, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2019. She was a faithful Christian woman who ran a card ministry and worked with Missions for Orphans through Christian Life Church.  She enjoyed shopping excursions to Amish country. Norma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a friend to many.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas; children, Paula Kaminski (Brent), Sherry Hamilton (Neil), Jamey Knight (Stacy), and Steven Knight; grandchildren, Thomas (Daned), Kraig (Bianei), Tyler, and Emma; great grandchildren, Carly, Emily, and Skye;  brother, William “Junior” Tracy (Patty); and sisters, Zana Freeman, Martha Cole, and Louise Tracy.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nettie (Cochran) Tracy; sisters, Winifred Skidmore, Aretha Parker, Jewell McCourt, and Inez Life; and a brother, Denver Tracy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8pm at Christian Life Church, 3559 West Erie Ave., Lorain. The funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday at 11am followed by the burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.

Snyder, Alma G.

Alma Gregory Snyder, age 79 of Avon, passed away Sunday February 24, 2019 at her home. She was a beautiful, funny, strong, witty, and hard-working lady who lived simply, but loved greatly.

Alma is survived by her husband Al Snyder; sons, Tom (Fran) Gregory, Joe (Carolyn) Gregory, and Mark (Elaine) Gregory; grandchildren, Andrea (Dan) Findley, Stephanie (Zach) Levy, Joe Gregory, Amber (Jacob) Baraona, Kyle (Danielle) Gregory, Brad Gregory, and Jamie Gregory; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Trudi Hodgson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Gregory.

Taylor, Karla K.

Karla Kay Taylor ,59,passed away May 25th at her home. She was born Sept.23rd 1958 in Winchester Virginia, the daughter of Henry and Shirley McKee , Loving mom of Nate and Chante’ Taylor.

Karla was a sweet woman,who had the biggest heart.She lived for her kids,And would do anything for them, loving them unconditionall y.  Family was the most important thing for her. She touched so many lives over the years with her kindness, warm smile,  And big hugs.
