Beulah Jean Pence

Jean Pence (nee Pringle) 87 of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She and her husband Harry owned and operated a furniture and appliance store in the 1970’s, and then in the early 1980’s they opened A-1 Appliances and ran that store until 2007 when Jean retired. She was completely devoted to her husband and the business until she retired. Jean’s passion was her church – Christian Unity Church in Grafton. Besides taking care of her granddaughter Becca, her church was everything to her. If the doors were open, Jean was there! She will be greatly missed.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Kim Hale (Jim); her dear granddaughter, Becca Hale; and her siblings, Juanita Dodd, Ruth Ann Johnson, and Ray Pringle (Barb). She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Beulah Pringle; her beloved husband, Harry Pence; and her sisters, Mildred Carder and Jackie Saunders.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd. E., Sheffield Twp., and on Friday at Christian Unity Church, 36353 Capel Rd., Grafton from 10:0 am until the funeral service at noon. The interment will follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
