Charles M Loy

Charles M. Loy, 92, of Elyria, Ohio went to be with the Lord on January 5th, 2024. He passed away peacefully in his home. He was born January 13th, 1931, in Murray, Iowa.

Charles’ life career was spent as a self-employed entrepreneur in tree care service, landscaping and construction. Charles and his wife Dolores also worked for U-Store-It, for just over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening and naming all the trees and flowers. Charles also loved to play golf. He was a loving and witty family man, with a great sense of humor. He would spend a great deal of time making lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. If anyone needed him, he always showed up to be supportive and help them out. Charles will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Darlene Loy; wife, and the love of his life, Dolores Y. Loy; sons, Michael Charles Loy, and Merrill Dean Loy; brother, Duane Loy; sister, Joyce Murtle; brothers-in-law, Galen Murtle, and Don Davis.

Charles is survived by his sister, L. Jean Davis; sons, Steven M. Loy (Tammy) of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Jon W. Loy (Pam) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; daughters, Vicki L. Horner (Harold) of Lorain, Ohio, Melinda Woody (Eric) of Elyria, Ohio, Jennifer Batovsky (Joe) of Elyria, Ohio; daughter-in-law Dawn Loy of Jupiter, Florida; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be  private services and a celebration of life in early summer.

 Funeral arrangements were handled by Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel assissted the family.
