Douglas A. Barker, 80 of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. He was the hardest working man ever, never missing a day of work in his career. He loved doing many things in life, particularly golfing, fishing, gardening, listening to music, playing poker, shooting pool, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and playing scratch off instant lotto tickets. He loved his West Virginia Hillbillies and watching Hee Haw TV shows. He also loved to tell stories, and had a sarcastic smartass sense of humor. Above all these things however, he loved his family the most and will be greatly missed by all of them.
Doug is survived by his children, Peggy Barker (Jeff Mucha), Tina Redmond, Samantha Altpater (Richard), Terri Abner (Jeff), and Jerry Barker (Shalonda Ward); grandchildren, Donald Goble (Heather), Danielle Keene (Tom), Krishina Abner (Jeff), Edith Barker, Emely Barker, Jerry Barker, Dustin Chaffin, Casey Barker, Josh Rhoden, Brandon Rhoden, Dottie Abner, Allison Nicols, Teddy Barker, Douglas Barker, and Jackie Barker; and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dotty; son, Dale Barker; granddaughter, Ashley Goble Cleavinger; grandson, Ronald Thomas, Jr.; and grandson, Andrew Barker.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Thursday from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
