Douglas E. Slone

Douglas E. Slone, 76 of New Port Richey, FL passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at his home. He grew up in Elyria and lived here for over 30 years. Doug was a teacher in the Elyria School District for three years and had his own real estate business. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Elfers, FL.

Doug is survived by his loving mama Marjorie Slone Gibson; daughters, Kimberly Lynn Slone of Alaska and Kelly Rae Slone Haddock of Colorado; sister, Belinda Slone Elliott of Elyria; nephew, Chad Elliott (Lisa) of LaGrange; great nephew, Tyler Elliott and great niece, Ashley Elliott; step sister, Brenda Ruggles (Feldon): and step brothers, Gerald Gibson (Valerie), Mark Gibson, Joe Gibson (Sandy), Allen Gibson (Sonja), and Donnie Gibson (Diane).

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., E., Sheffield Twp. on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 11:00 am. with Rev. Jim Slone, officiating. Burial to follow at River Rd. Cemetery in LaGrange.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to either the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence  or the Nature Conservancy
