Emogene Copley, 94, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday February 21 ^st at Life Care Center of Elyria, surrounded by her family. She was born November 13, 1928 in Printer, West Virginia to Sewell and Ruby Watts. She graduated from Sherman High School. She married Cecil Copley on November 13 ^th , 1948 and were married for 67 years. They were inseparable in life and together again in God’s Heaven.

Emogene was a woman of strong faith, love and kindness, known for her sewing, baking, and crocheting. At age 90, she crocheted 100 hats for school children in Lorain and Columbus!

Surviving are her three children: Judy (Jan) Gaydos of Huron, Jerry of Elyria, and Cheryl (Bobby) Whisman of Elyria. She was Granny to five grandsons: Scott (Candice) Mamere of Columbus, Jeff Mamere of Kempner, Texas, Brian (Rachel) Mamere of Huron, Miguel Candelario of London, England and Jerry Sapienza of Wakeman. Great Granny to eight great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter; Aunt Emmie to six nieces and one nephew.

Emogene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil in 2016; brothers, Ronald and Camron Watts; and siste,r Thelma Halstead.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Life Care Center of Elyria for all the love and care you gave to our mom.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, February 27 ^th at the Toledo Road Church of Christ, located at 5075 Toledo Road, Lorain, OH 44055. The funeral service, conducted by Steve Stevens, will be on Tuesday, February 28 ^th at 10:30am at the Toledo Road Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Avon.
