Francisco Cardona, aged 90 of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025. He was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Jose Cardona and Eleutera Cardona (nee Montanez) on August 26, 1934. He came to the northeast Ohio area in the 1970s where he met and fell in love with Nydia who later became his wife.

He was a truck driver, handyman and licensed general contractor. He loved working construction and took great pride in work, and people always came to him whenever they needed anything done. Francisco loved going back and forth to Puerto Rico, where he enjoyed raising chickens and socializing with family and friends.

Francisco is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Nydia; his children, Maria, Rosa, Wilmer, Francisco, Dr. Francisco, Francis, Nydia, and Nestor; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with his brother, Jose.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Francisco; brothers, Valentin and Ipolito; and a sister, Carmen.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Sunday, February 9 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
