John Percy Riggs Jr.

John P. Riggs, Jr., 86 of Sheffield Lake passed away on Saturday May 4, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of work. John was originally from Swansboro, North Carolina, but lived most of his life in this area. He had served in the Coast Guard. John enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially travelling with his sister, Pat.

John is survived by his son, David Riggs (Angie Carr) of Lorain; daughter, Dawn Reising (Tony) of Westerville, Ohio, grandchildren, Nathan and Aaron Reising and Hope Siese; and siblings, Pat Odum and C.B. Riggs.

John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Gloria, in 1997,  and his parents, John and Mary Riggs.

The family will be holding a graveside service at Ridgehill Memorial Park.
