Lydia Rodriguez

Lydia Rodriguez, aka Lydia Collazo, 91 of Lorain, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. She was a lady who loved being with people. In her younger days, she would cook for family and friends that she hosted at her home every weekend. She also cooked and was very active at Sacred Heart Church in Lorain. Lydia loved animals and gardening too.

Lydia is survived by her children, Carlos Collazo (Esther) and Marilyn Fernandez (Nestor); grandchildren, Nestor Fernandez, Jr. (Elizabeth), Rick Fernandez (Christina), Nick Fernandez (Bianca), Christian Collazo (Evelyn), and Carla Collazo; numerous great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and a sister, Mariasoccoro Perez.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Rito and Juan Collazo; granddaughter, Jolyn Collazo; and brother-in-law Felipe Oyola.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 4 at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain followed by the burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Tuesday from 4-8pm.
