Michael J. Kisha, age 74 of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He was retired from Ohio Edison after working there for 40 years. Mike loved baseball and had received numerous scholarships for baseball at Cleveland State University. He also loved animals, especially dogs, and dearly loved his family and ancestry. Mike had a special passion for history, especially Gettysburg which he and his family would visit every year. He will most be remembered for being hard-working, compassionate, and helpful with a heart of gold. Michael will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife of seven years, Mary (nee Severa); children, Jacqueline Vari (Jason), Sarah Young (Joel), Maria Klima (Adam), and Dimitrios Gikas (Corey); grandchildren, Sophia Vari, Wesley Vari, Adeline Vari, Jacob Young, Maxwell Young, Avalyn Young, Michael Klima (with whom he lived), Abigail Klima, David Lkima, George Gikas, Nicholas Gikas, and Alex Gikas; a sister, Dorothy Morilak; a sister and brother-in-law with whom he had a special relationship – Laura and Guadalupe Gonzalez; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tresa Kisha; a sister, Elizabeth Spiwak; and brothers-in-law, Andrew Morilak and Robert Spiwak.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to either the Alzheimers Association or the Animal Protective League.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd. E., Sheffield Twp. on Thursday from 5-7pm with a short prayer service at 7pm.
