Pagona Nitsa "Peggy" Pappas, 84, of Lorain, passed away on November 9th, 2023. She was born on January 24, 1940 to parents John and Eleni Margaritis (nee Mera) in Domvrena, Greece.
After finishing school, she immigrated to Lorain, Ohio at 18. A few years later, Nitsa met the love of her life, Vlasis, in Lorain. They would travel to Greece frequently to visit with family and friends during the summer. Nitsa retired from Lorain Products. As a Greek Orthodox Christian, she was active in her faith and religion. In her leisure time, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. This included dancing, singing, going on local adventures, watching Greek films and being outdoors.
Nitsa is survived by her daughter Hope, son Theodore (Theodora); grandchildren Marina, Nitsa, Vlasi, Chrisovalanti, Niko; and great granddaughter Serenity.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Vlasis Pappas; her parents John and Eleni Margaritis (nee Mera); and brother Gus Margaritis.
A funeral visitation will take place at 10am until 11am on Friday, November 17th, at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 2000 Tower Blvd. in Lorain. At 11am, Father Christopher Zaferes will officiate the funeral service. Procession to Elmwood Cemetery for burial will commence directly after.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
