Philip K. Gilbert

Philip K. Gilbert, 80 of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He worked at Aquamarine Golf Course for 55 years finishing as a maintenance superintendent. Philip was a Past President of the Elyria Eagles #431. He graduated from Midview high School in 1960 and was a hard worker all of his life. Philip and his wife loved to travel. His greatest joy, besides his family was his dog, Baby Ann. He would do anything for anyone and will be greatly missed.

Philip is survived by his adoring wife of 58 years, Lorraine; children, Lori Varisco (Alan), Greg Gilbert, and Philip Gilbert (Cora); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Beth Hoffer (Michael); and sister-in-law, Eileen Noveske.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margaret Gilbert; and a brother, Ronald Gilbert.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd. E., Sheffield Twp. on Saturday, December 4 from 3-5pm with a service of remembrance beginning around 4:30pm.
