Larry A. Pitzer was born December 14, 1949, in Fairmont, WV. His family moved to Ohio when he was five. Larry attended Elyria High School, then moved to the Cleveland area where he was an award-winning florist. He owned one floral shop in Parma, and later in Amherst. He spent much of his time, talent and money helping others. Larry was well-loved by all those who knew him. The Saint Joseph Lakota School for Indians was one of his favorite organizations.
Larry went home to the Lord on May 15 at Mercy Hospice after a short battle with cancer. Preceding him in death were his father Al (Gene), mother Lillie, and brother Wayne. Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law Sue and Bob Gajdos, three nephews, one niece, and two great-nephews. All were the apple of his eye.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 23, at 5:30 PM at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2949 West River Road North, in Elyria, OH. Pastor Chris LaLonde will officiate. Interment will be at a later date.
