Richard O. Schwarz, "Rich," 82, of Elyria, went to Heaven on December 29, 2024. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Rich will be remembered for his kind heart and unwavering desire to help those around him.
Rich proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1966, earning an honorable discharge. His gentle spirit extended to his love of animals, as he found joy in caring for his cats and feeding the deer, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife that visited his daily feedings. Rich also found peace and happiness vacationing with his wife Dolly in Venice, Florida, where he enjoyed the beach and shell collecting.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Millie “Dolly” (née Bradley); his daughters, Jennifer Korinek (Jack III) and Nancy Lenz (Bernie); and his adored grandchildren, Jack IV, Anthony, and Sara (Phil). He is also survived by his siblings, Theresa Nunez (Louis) and Frank Schwarz (Peggy), along with numerous family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Schwarz; his son, Gregory Schwarz; and sisters, Loretta and Joann.
A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at a later date to honor his remarkable journey and the love he shared with all who knew him.
Reichlin Roberts Bollinger is honored to be assisting the family at this time.
