Roy A. Brenner, 83 of Elyria, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at his residence under the care of both Hospice of the Western Reserve and members of his family, following a lengthy illness. Roy was born in Harrisburg, PA on August 24, 1940.
Roy retired from General Motors after 32 years, and worked at NACS for 10 years in the evenings. He was a lifelong member of the Crossroad Christian Center in Oberlin, Ohio. He enjoyed bowling, watching horse shows, and going to the Lorain County Fair. Most of all, Roy loved being with his family.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Jean Lovejoy of Elyria and Carol Pearl of Elyria; brothers, Art (Linda) Brenner of Kipton and John Brenner of Elyria; grandchildren, Ryan Lovejoy of Litchfield and Stephanie (Tyler) Arbough of Elyria; two great grandchildren, Mason Lovejoy and Noah Lovejoy of Elyria; and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary; parents, William and Mary (nee Shaw) Brenner; brothers, Ralph Brenner, Paul Brenner and David Brenner; and sons-in-law, Tom Lovejoy and Raymond Pearl.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Road in Elyria. Rev. Santo Davila from Crossroads Christian Center will officiate the Graveside Service on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Westwood Cemetery, 455 Morgan Street, Oberlin.
