William L Wilkerson

William L. Wilkerson “Bill”, 72 of Lorain passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024. He loved old cars, coins, and sitting on his porch watching the cars go by. Bill’s greatest love however was his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of almost 22 years, April Wilkerson (nee Mellinger); his son, Dennis Wilkerson; stepchildren, Laura Sutton (Greg) and Patrick Bragg (Kelly); grandchildren, Quintin Wilkerson, Dennis Wilkerson, Jr., Donald Wilkerson, Jr., Emily Wilkerson, Nikki Sutton, Hunter Sutton, and Mackenzie Bragg; and his brother, Alvis Wilkerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Jewell Wilkerson (nee Deering); first wife, Carol Wilkerson; son, Donald Wilkerson (Wendy, surviving); brothers, Carl, Donald, and Dennis Wilkerson; and sisters, Joyce Carrender, Shirley Rueter, Charlotte Newbraugh, Sharon Dull, and Brenda Wilkerson.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Thursday, August 1 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, with a short service beginning at 7:45 pm. Upon Bill’s request, no suits, ties, or dresses are to be worn – comfortable clothing only! Thank you.
